We are now recruiting firefighters for two different positions – permanent full-time employment and fixed-term contracts.

Description of the Workplace

Rescue Service West is a municipal association whose task is to work for protection against accidents within Varberg and Falkenberg municipalities. Our mission is to be responsible for municipal rescue services and preventive accident protection in accordance with the Act on Protection against Accidents (LSO).

We are a rescue service that wants to be at the forefront! Professionalism and innovation are our guiding principles. We also strive to be a rescue service for everyone and believe that diversity and differences enrich us.

Our five rescue teams are staffed around the clock and work preventively and supportively to create conditions for avoiding serious incidents as much as possible. But when they do happen, you and your team should be able to break the incident process as quickly and safely as possible and help those affected.

Our goal is to reduce the number of accidents. We do this, among other things, through education, information, and supervision. If an accident does occur, the goal is to reduce response times through, among other things, more smaller units spread across the association's area of operation.

Job Responsibilities

You contribute to our work in providing protection against accidents in society. You work with preparation for operations through education, training, and other competence development, as well as with preventive tasks and security-enhancing measures for society and citizens. This is done, for example, through information, education, and outreach activities, both before and after an incident has occurred. In addition, you have an operational duty in one of our rescue teams.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a firefighter through the Protection against Accidents education. If you have also studied any of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency's (formerly MSB) command courses or any of their training for supervision and other accident-preventive activities, or equivalent training, it is an advantage. You must meet the medical requirements for smoke and chemical diving. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. Care, knowledge, innovation, and flexibility are some of our key words.

A driver's license is required, minimum category C.
